Why the New Mexico Games?

The New Mexico Games is looking for a talented, athletic minded, part-time intern to assist in preparation for 2024 events. This opportunity will be offered based on experience, skills, availability, and time commitment. If your college allows, this internship could be completed for an academic credit.

All applicants must be confident in their writing capabilities and have an extensive knowledge of different sporting events. Applicants must also be comfortable in conversing over the phone with coaches, directors, and other leaders in New Mexico sports. Dates and times for this internship will be agreed upon between the intern and the New Mexico Games. While this is a partially remote internship, the intern must commit to attending the memorial weekend basketball tournament, as well as 3 other events.

 

Company Description

The New Mexico Games is a non-profit organization that allows athletes to participate in competition and make lasting friendships. We host 15+ competitions each year across the state, from basketball to judo.

Job Description

As an intern with New Mexico Games, you will assist in the day-to-day operations as well as help production of sporting events. You may be required to contact teams and coaches to encourage them to join the games. Additionally, you will help with the set up and tear down of the basketball tournament, plus 3 other events of your choosing. During an event, you may be required to accept cash at the front gate, distribute shirts, hand out medals and trophies, take photos/ videos or other tasks as needed.
